Comment by Joseph Blair on August 9, 2009 at 11:07am - Made the final 3 patrols on the Gold Crew from 90-91...last patrol was out of Holy Loch, Scotland with the Simon Lake (AS-33). Pulled into Groton after final patrol. Got out after we took the boat from Groton, unloaded weapons in Charleston, played war games in Puerto Rico, went through the Panama Canal, pulled into Hawaii for four days, pulled into San Diego for four days and finally ended up in Bangor. Spent one week in Bangor and got out of the Navy as I understood the boat was planning to be a host ship for a few months before getting cut up.
