Hey Ronnie! Damn has it been a long time! I will never forget the time when I was brand new to the boat and standing UI (Under Instruction) Rover watch. I had a hard time getting myself moving when I got up for watch and I generally ate when I was technically on watch (since I was just UI anyway). I remember showing up for my UI watch and you were LOS. I said that I would be right back that I was going to go to the Mess Decks and eat. I did that and when I came back you calmy explained to me that although I was UI it was still my resonsiblity to get to watch on time and that I am not really supposed to eat after assuming the UI watch. I then chose my words very badly. I was trying to admit my wrong-doing and I said something to you like “first of all I did not ask you if I could go eat I told you that I was going to go eat”. I was attempting to convey the point that I was wrong and should not have just told you that I was going to eat and that I should have asked. It sounded though like I was being the ultimate smart ass and telling you that I was doing what I wanted to do regardless! You were not amused and told me to get out of Launcher. I went to UL trying to figure out how I was going to convince you that I did not mean it that way. The next thing that happened was Lee Massee came to UL and chewed my ass for being a smartass to his LOS. There was no hope. It is funny now, but at the time it was a royal foot-in-mouth bad choice of words!

You need to add some pics to your profile. It would be great to have a reunion, maybe here in Florida, maybe in the spring. It was great that Stanley started this web site. We met up with him here in Jacksonville last December. Had not seen him in 20+ years. We all still looked the same!! HA-HA!! My beard is just grayer.

Yes, I agree about the blessing of age. I keep getting confused between the Vallejo and the Hamilton and have to break out the pictures. I was on the Vallejo for 10 years. I really enjoyed both subs. Remember when we pulled into
Weymouth, England? That was a blast.

Ron, I was looking over the comments on here and someone asked about Cromwell. Remember Brian Moscoe, he was an MT2 when you first got there. He is married to Joeys sister. Saw Brian Last year, he works for Honeywell in St Petersburg. We went golfing a few times. He said Joey is a ship Master down in Ft Lauderdale. Guess he makes big money. I remember Joey was a 1st class and qualified OOD.

Great to hear back from you, Im in Chesapeake Va, married 3 boys, have you talked to many other shipmates from the Hamilton gold?

Wish I had kept in touch over the years, would be great to arrange a reunion or something. Do you know Dee Shuefeld?I see he's on this been trying to reach him
